System Restore on Custom PC Build

So I built my PC, all custom parts to how I wanted it to be, etc... Not all that uncommon. My question is, what would happen if I preformed a system restore? I have ton of cluttered junk, and don't use a ton of the programs I have on my computer. I figured it'd just be easiest to restore the whole system to new, and reinstall the two or three programs I need.

Would a system restore keep my copy of Windows 7 Professional on my hard drive? Or will it completely blank the hard drive? Seeing as, when I initially put it in my computer, it was blank.

Thanks for any input,

-Jake

Hi xsxbrownxsx!

To expound a bit, a System Restore will restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. It's a way to undo system changes to your computer without affecting your personal files, such as e-mails, documents, or photos.

So yes, your Windows OS will be safe.
