Hello!

I bought a new computer yesterday and I have a problem with the gs700..

The fans are not on most of the time, but when I watch a movie or a youtube video the psu starts and stops for 2 seconds every minute and makes a noticeable humm noise when doing it. And when im doing light stuff like surfing the web it does it every 5 minutes or so.

I think this is normal and happens because of the temperature monitor on the psu that the gs 2013 versions have(the fan starts when there's more power needed), but it's very annoying! I'd rather have it on all the time that listen a loud humm every minute..

So is there an option to make the fan to be on all the time? Or should i just take it back and get a new psu. I was thinking of getting the HX750, but does it also have the same "problem"?

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Although I am not at all sensitive to noise, may I suggest that you look into a fanless model PSU, they are a bit more expensive but would definately not subject you to the fan cycling noise. I know of no way to keep the fan on all the time on the Corsair model. Another possible way to reduce the cycling is to orient the PSU with fan up (if it isn't) and add fans to the case - that will provide some static airflow through the PSU which should keep it cooler and reduce the cycling also

So I returned the GS700 and went with Corsair HX-750 instead and damn this is a good psu compared to the GS700.. I barely hear it

But i may go crossfire in the future and was wondering can this PSU handle two 7970 Ghz editions?
