Hi guys,

I just built my first pc yesterday. The specs are:

AMD FX-8350
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
HD4890 GPU (Second hand, ran out of cash for a new one)
750W CoolerMaster PSU
NZXT Gamma Cabinet
1 Fan blowing in and 1 Exhaust on the chassis

The first thing i noticed when I started the system was the insanely loud CPU Fan noise. It seemed to be running at MAX RPM all the time, even on idle.

This problem hasn't gone away and I've noticed high temperatures even at idle. I've attached a few screenshots I've taken below:

Taken during a League of Legends Game:

Minimal Load:

Fan XPert:

I'm not sure what to do, if i set the profile to Turbo in Fan XPert the sound which is already unbearable becomes twice as bad with no change in the temperatures.
Is there something wrong with my setup? Please help.

Do you have an external cooler??
If not take one.
I would recommend Cooler master hyper 212 evo cooler Or Crosair has some high end coolers (If moneys no concern)
OR
Use the water cooling system if temperatures are tooo high.
Just google it and you will get all the info you need.

Money is a big concern atm. I have no budget to upgrade for atleast a month. I'd bear the noise for that long but the temperatures are scaring me.

What about the temperatures? I'll plug my ears and bear the noise but I really dont want to damage the components.

Ok I'm in trouble then. I touch 57 degrees every time with League of Legends. I wonder what the temps will be like if i played a heavier game. Does this look normal with the stock hsf?

1000 INR too? I can do 1000 right now, won't it be cheap and noisy if its that cheap though?

Well at the end of this month I can buy a good one for 3k but right now 1500 maximum. Would it be bad for the system if I just bought 2-3 chassis fans for now and left the stock hsf in place?

This is in game, it touches about 57 degrees. The GPU touches 65.

Hi 3v3r

I also have 8350 with boxed cooler at stock speed on an ASUS mobo, though be it a Sabertooth R2 990FX chipset.

I've had a look at your components and your setup looks good to me and should be an adequate construction.

My suggestion to you is to try taking the top cover off the pc case and measure the temps when the case is open and has plenty of air flow. If this helps you will need to add ventilation fans to the case.

The 4890 GPU is an OCed version of the 4870 and tends to run higher temps than the stock, combine this with a high end CPU and it looks to me like your case can't expel the excess heat quickly enough. Make sure the pc is not up against a solid wall or another electronic device that also outputs heat.

Hey harna, thanks for replying. I will do that soon and post the results here. I've also just moved my pc so that it's not against the wall. Does your stock fan also emit a whine and run at 5500+rpm with light load?

Get a good aftermarket heatsink/fan the stock heatsink/fan is very loud on the FX CPU's. You do not need to water cool them although I have all three of my rigs water cooled two of which are FX CPU's a FX-8120 and a FX-8350.

At this time I have Corsair H100i closed look coolers on all three of my rigs it is a nice balance between water cooling and cost of a full custom loop.
