im looking to get the GTX 650 Ti BOOST (along with a new PSU) soon and im really excited about Physx and adaptive vsync, but im worried about how much the physx effects frame rates in games; does it affect FPS as much as ambient occlusion and anti-aliasing? is it even worse?

if it helps, this is my computer: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Docume...

First of all, games must implement PhysX for it to be useful. And right now, not enough games use it for me to put a price on it. Not sure that answers your question, but the point is "don't worry about it".

Physx effect are different in a lot of games and so the fps drop differs. Physx in mirrors edge doesn't affect performance while physx in borderlands or batman can have a significant performance drop(20-esque fps).

i know that currently, only a few games like planetside 2, batman AC, hawken use physx but it looks really cool and immersive and hopefully more games use it in the future and Nvidia can optimize it better

Agreed. Right now, I'm finding it hard to do a good measure up on how much PhysX affect games when so little utilize it.
