Now ive been around the internet searching and trawling, but i need particular advice for my issue.

Im getting my new cpu cooler tomorrow, so for now im on stock cooler having a play.

i upped it to 3.8ghz on 1.120 voltage and max temps around 91, which im not happy with, i pushed the vcore down to 1.110 and max temps down to 84, but i seen people easily overclock to 3.8 on stock cooler with no issues with temperature. Have i got a bad chip?

Also can i go any lower with the Vcore? without running into too many issues.

Yes, you can lower the Vcore much more. Try from 0.9 and up. If it does not boot, add 0.05v and try again. it wont break anything, just will not boot. A fair guess is you can get it to 1.0v.

Alhtough i would not suggest exceeding 3.8GHz on stock cooling.

Yes a little. Since Turbo Boost is capable of keeping the CPU at 3.8GHz anyway if only one or two cores are used. But to be honest, they are high because of your voltage. Ivy does not like voltage, you can lower it substantially.

My 3570K can boot at 3.8GHz at .95v for example. Although it fails a half hour prime95 run. Its fully stable at 1.05V though.
