I have recently installed a new Ivybridge 3770k and after some work of getting everything set up it worked great. However this weekend the networking has gone to hell. It was working fine, and after turning my computer on the next morning, it has started to have an awful signal strength. When I install all the drivers it boosts up again and opens a broadcom appplication on the system tray, but it disappears after 10 seconds and wont appear again. I know its the computer because my phone and small laptop are fine, and it couldnt be hardware if it worked last week, and when its installing drivers. Any ideas??

You should install the latest driver for your wireless card even if Windows says your driver is up to date. Do not have Windows find and install the latest driver. Instead, go to the manufacturer's web site for your wireless card and downlad the driver from there.

It sounds like you are using the wireless networking software that came with your wireless card. Most people seem to have best results by using the wireless networking software that is built into Windows 7.

I believe when you install the driver for your wireless card, there is an option to install all of the software (including the wireless networking software), or just the driver. You should just install the driver. You may have to uninstall everything and re-install the driver only. Another possibility is that if you go into Windows 7 Control Panel for uninstalling programs, you may find the Broadcom networking software shown there all by itself. In that case, just uninstall the Broadcom networking software.

So I did that, and it removed my computers ability to network completely, but i Reinstalled the driver only this time, and its still doing it. Anything else??

I really appreciate your help btw.

Has your wireless card got a decent antenna, and is it connected to the card properly? Is there anything that could be causing RF interference? Did you try to improve your RF signal by moving the computer to a different location?

I havent tried this. The only devices that are in the area are a playstation, that isnt on, and an external hard drive. The wireless card has 2 antennas that are connected good. This is really annoying. Its only getting .3MBps download, and it was going at 3.6MBps.

It sounds like the wireless adapter you have now is a PCIe type, which normally is fine. Could you try putting your wireless adapter in a different slot? It might be worthwhile trying a different wireless adapter. Either another PCIe type, or a USB type.
