Is running a 32-bit operating system faster on a 64-bit CPU?

Hi everyone,

I am running a new 64-bit operating system on a 64-bit CPU (from a few years ago) but I find that at times there is a slight delay with the cursor and input of characters. I don't know whether this is due to wireless internet speed fluctuations while I am on Wifi or whether it actually has to do with the OS and the CPU.

I am thus considering running the 32-bit version of the same new OS on this CPU but would be very interested to know what anyone with the knowledge/experience could tell me about this. Is it the same as running an old (simple) program on a new hardware configuration (which would handle the software easily and thus with no speed issues), or is it different with OSs and I am looking at the whole situation wrongly?

Looking forward to any replies.

Give a little more detail on what cpu you are using.
Also 64-bit is relatively faster than 32-bit.

No. Something else is the cause of your problems.
