Hello everyone,
I'm a student majoring in architecture, and I want to upgrade my former laptop to a desktop, for using 3D programs like Archicad, Revit, 3D Max and others, while also using renderers like Indigo, V-ray, Mental Ray etc.

Proposed desktop:
Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker;
PSU: Corsair TX650V2 Enthusiast Series 650W TX ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze ;
Motherboard: Asus P9X79;
CPU: Intel,I7 3820, 3.60GHz;
CPU cooler: Noctua D14;
RAM: G-skill Ripjaws Z 16gb, 2133MHz;
Graphic card: EVGA GeForce GTX670 ( I know that Quadro's graphic cards are dedicated for rendering, but they are way too expensive);
HDD1: Samsung 840, 256GB, SSD;
HDD2: Seagate 2TB;

Any kind of help or opinions would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much! :)

Yes, quadro cards can get expensive, but they are very much optimized for what you need. That said, you have a very solid setup there. It would be a great gaming machine...only mediocre workstation. If you were to get a quadro card (even a cheaper quadro) you would have a good workstation and a mediocre gamer. Regardless, that setup will get the job done...just maybe not as fast as you would like. :)
