Hi I bought i5 3750k , gigabyte z77x-ud3h plus 8 gig dominator 1600mgz yesterday to replace my old parts .. I have a amd radeon hd 6870 with 1gig ddr5 .. I was soo disappointed when I played games on it . to me it seems like my old 2010 setup was a lot better at handling game ? I had Asus m3n78-em . Amd phenom x4. plus the same graphic card I mentioned before and 4 gig Kingston ram. I finished far cry3 on it a week ago till it stopped working seemed like motherboard was faulty . I used to fun far cry on high to ultra setting ,without any sort of choppiness or lag on high setting it was a smooth gameplay throughout ..
But now after installing i5 new motherboard and double the ram it is laggy gameplay I am getting 35-50 frames a sec on high setting and on low settings I get around 80-90 frames .what is wrong . ..I am going physco nuts because I spent all my $600 saving on the new setup and I don't feel any difference it's just gotten worse
I have not clocked the i5 and never clocked my old CPU .i would have expected a lot better performance for what I paid for . I could have just gone out and bought a second hand asus for $40-50 and carried on .. Y ? . I will really appreciate any help.
