Can my ssd be my desktop storage without having to put windows on it?

Solution
It makes absolutely no sense but you can do it.

1. Install it, connect power and data cables.
2. Boot machine
3. Open Disk Manager and set it up like any other HD

SSD = fast
HD = slower

An OS boots in 21 - 35 seconds off a HD, 16-18 seconds off an SSD
An program loads in 2 -25 seconds off a HD, 1-12 seconds off an SSD
A file loads in 1-4 seconds off a HD, 0 - 2 seconds off a SSD

Yes, I have large AutoCAD files that take 30 seconds to load but the program takes longer to open. Yes an SSD is great for a SSD scratch disk but I would not consider having an SSD as an Adobe scratch disk w/o also having one for the OS and program itself.
