Hello,

I am looking to get a aftermarket cooler for my AMD Bulldozer FX 6100 as Ive noticed that the fan seems to sit at around 2000 rpm and up to 3500 on full load ( Temps stay idle at 17 and full load around 40 but the noise is a killer.

Does anyone have any suggestion on a CPU cooler that will fit my case and provide good cooling.

Gigabyte 970-UM3
Bulldozer FX 6100
OCZ 120GB SSD
Asus 660 Direct CU
Corsair Build Series 750W PSU
Kingston Value Ram 16GB 1600MHz Hyper X Blue

Hyper212Evo is a really good cooler, but to be honest its not that silent (well its not loud either but dont expect total silence since its max rpm is around 2000)
If you want silence you should look at fans that comes with 800-1600rpm range with PWM fan control mod.
Phantex, Noctua, CoolerMaster, Xigmatek fans/heatsinks are all good for use.

Update:
Here is a list for AM3+ compatible air coolers list

Hello Sorry,

Case is a Zalman z9 Plus and my budget is around £50 so anything under. As regards to the bios settings. I did some overclockign and disabled these however when they were enabled even sat idle at 17c it sat at like 2000

VS. the stock cooler the 212 is much quieter even at full speed. I have 2 amd systems and my 212 is half as loud as the stock cooler. I don't hear it over the GPU fan when gaming so under stress it is still quiet.

Well if you compare it to stock cooler ofcourse its silent, I agree with that. But at full speed 2000rpm 212Evo has 36dB sound output, what I'm trying to say is that human ear can hear above 20dB so if you dont want to hear any noise there are fans at 18-19dB (which means its total silence for you)
For instance;
Noctua NH-U9B's sound output is 17.6dB at 1600rpm which is incredible. Well you gotta pay like 10-15$ more, if you want silence...

then get a fan with more rpm which produces more air pressure (CFM) to keep it cooler, also which has less sound output as dB :)
well in any case, Hyper212Evo is a good choice already.

Evo has reasonable sound output compared to its cooling capacity, also the price is really good...
