Hi,
I want to buy a new DeathAdder as a replacement for my broken Naga 2012 (don't need all the extra buttons anymore). I didn't like the surface of the Naga 2012 very much. It was very rough and uncomfortable to touch for me. Now I'm afraid, that the 2013 Version of the DeathAdder has the same surface as the Naga 2012. I did like the surface of the old Naga or Naga Epic though.
Has anyone had the chance to compare both mice (DeathAdder 2013 and Naga 2012) and can confirm that they have the same surface? And which version of the DeathAdder (3.5G, Black Edition) is similar to the surface of the old Naga/Epic?

Solution
I have both versions of the Deathadder (the 3.5G I killed in an ill fated modding attempt) and can confirm that there is a difference in texture between them.
The 3.5G (and its Black Edition, just make sure it has a 3500DPI sensor and its an old one) was smooth plastic, while the 2013 edition has a more textured surface. Wouldn't call it rough but its definitely there.

Solution
the hard coating on the new mouse looks to be more resistant to damage and wear but i agree it isn't the most comfortable surface.

i havent had the opportunity to see the new 2013 deathadder in person but from a few photos it does in fact look more rough like the naga hex we have. the old deathadder has a rubberized coating which can wear and collects dust quickly however is not rough.

try one out in store if they have displays. if not you can purchase one at a store like best buy where they have a good return policy. razer tends to use glossy boxes with big easy to peel off seal stickers which makes putting it back in the box and taking it back to the store even simpler than an open box policy.... i just say that i didnt use it and bought something else elsewhere!

or of course you can try to find an older deathadder somewhere

I recommend getting the 2013 edition because of the improvements and sensor accuracy improvements. I have it and I love it!

I have no problems with it.
