Hey guys,

I'm new here and I have been in a bit of fiddle with a Lacie Rikiki USB 3.0 1TB I bought a year ago now. Long story short, after a few months of owning the drive, when I went to connect the cable to the unit, the port fell inside the enclosure. After contacting Lacie (is still under warranty), they said the options were to have the drive formatted and repaired but if I wanted my data, I would have to pay at least £400 (!!!) to have it recovered, even though the actual HDD is perfectly intact. That's more than 4 times what I paid for the damn thing! So I opted to go the DIY route.

I disassembled it and this is what I have:

I tried to solder the port back onto the 'green board thing' (don't know the correct name) but it wouldn't stay.

So can I buy a compatible 'green board thing' that will fit in or will I need to buy an entirely new enclosure? If so, any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance
