What is a good budget CPU?

Do you know if the AMD Fx-4100 is a good budget cpu as I am on a major budget of less than $500 for my entire pc. The AMD Fx-4100 is $148.35 from the place I am buying it from (PB Technologies New Zealand) Which is a Pc parts store in NZ and I cannot buy from Amazon as it comes from America and I don't trust amazon. BTW the Intel core i7 is $408. Pb technologies does not sell Phenom ii x4 965 or any phenom cpu. Can you please suggest parts for my first pc build (You can use pc parts picker New Zealand) My budget is $500 or under. Thanks and sorry for such a strict amount of restrictions but I am on a major budget.

save something on the psu and get a corsair cx430. from the money you saved buy an a10 5800k.

edit: never mind didn't knew the prices were that high in your country

That's a good cpu depending on the usage. For heavy gaming there are better options priced similarly. i.e. i3-3220 and FX-6300 as L Help said. As for Amazon, it's my favorite place to shop online and I don't live in the USA either(kinda). I live in Puerto Rico and everything takes a few days more to get here. I have bought books, CPU coolers, case fans, Headsets and a DSLR Nikon camera. Everything has arrived in the dates estimated and nothing has come damaged or anything.
