i am building a budget gaming pc and am pretty sure what i am looking for
i game at 1366x768 which is a low resolution so i am not looking for high end cards as i am on a budget

i prefer intel cpu and i suppose a quad core would give me more future proofing

i will prefer not be affected by bottlenecking

possible choices

cpu:-i5 3450/3470/3550/3570(non k)
gpu:-gtx 650 ti/hd 7770/hd 7750/gtx 650
ram:- 8gb
psu:-corsair vs 550
MoBo:- b75

which will be best the best combination for my build

i play at low resolution and i want to games at that resolution for at least 2 years i will be fine with medium settings

games i would play will be assassin's creed 3, far cry 3, crysis 3, battlefield 3, bioshock infinite and almost every modern games

any help would be appreciated

Go with the cheapest i5 you can find, the difference between even the worst and the best is only like 0.3Ghz or less, which is really nothing in the real world.

Make sure you get 2x4Gb of RAM, rather than 1x8.

Go for the best video card you can afford, an i5 doesn't bottleneck even systems with multiple 7970s, so I wouldn't worry too much. If you go for too bad of a video-card though, it'll probably be wasted on an i5.

Speaking of which for all those video cards, you wouldn't really see a difference at your resolution with an i3. Is there not enough in your budget to get a 1080p screen? I feel like an i5 is a tad wasteful for anything less than 900p or so.

And yes what is your budget?

do u think i5 will be bottlenecked by the resolution i use

If you don't plan on overclocking, then I would get the i5-3470, and match it with the 650Ti. If you do want to overclock, then the i5-3570K would be a good choice and last you a lot longer than an i3. It's a lot easier to add a new GPU down the road compared to a new CPU.

Yes that will be good gaming at that resolution.

for like 570$ here is my recommendation...
I would definitely go for a 650ti boost instead of 650ti thats a big difference for similar price... You can get a case+psu combo to compensate the difference. Rosewill is a good/trusted brand. And for the cpu there is no point in investing on a better cpu, you shall check 3350p, since they are typically similar with 3470, performance wise.

I don't know if he'll be able to get that combo deal in India. It's also out of stock (not that it matters).

If the 3350P is cheaper go for that. With i5s I think unless you're overclocking, just get the one you can get for the lowest price (unless you need integrated graphics or something).

He really doesn't need a Ti Boost for 720p, the standard Ti would be enough, though the 7770 is faster if it's the same price. Anything over that is overkill, and will just be wasted.

I think an i3/650 Ti would be more balanced than that, and also cheaper, but the CPU wouldn't last you as long. A "balanced" gaming build is 99% of the time one where you spend anywhere from the same to twice as much on the GPU than the CPU. This isn't the case with the i5 and the 650 Ti, but then again you really don't need anymore graphics horsepower if you stick with 720p, and the i5 will really last a long time with the advent of multi-threaded games. Unlike the graphics card, the i5 is useful for things other than gaming as well, so it's less of an issue that you're at a very low resolution. In the end it's all down to you.

Newegg won't ship to India period. You will need to use an India-specific website like theitdepot.com or Flipkart.

I think an i3/7850 or i3-650TI will be fine for this build.

do you not think i will be better off with a i5 or do u think for that resolution i3 will be okay for at least 3 years

That's a good question and there's not really an easy answer to that. Games at the most really only use one or two cores at a time. Only strategy games like Civ V would take more than that to properly run.
