I have been researching for the last 2 days trying to find the best PSU under $60 and I'm having quite a bit of trouble. PSUs are probably my weak point in terms of knowledge, and with so many choices out there it's hard to find what's good and what's not. It's going to be for this build (I am going to putting 4GB of GSkill Ripjaw RAM I already have):

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($118.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($56.68 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Rosewill Blackbone ATX Mid Tower Case ($31.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $472.63
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Only problem with that is that I need 2 pci-e connectors for the 7870 :/

Just was recommended this one in another thread: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-139-050&Tpk=17-139-050

I'm pretty sure this one will do everything I need it to and it comes in under budget! Thanks for the reply.

Actually you want to get the best power supply you can get - don't skimp. This is the most critical component of your system. The Seasonic PSU I linked to maybe a bit more than the Corsair but it's probably the single best 500W PSU you could buy right now.

I was just about to go ahead with the Corsair CX500, but now another sale has popped up that has me thinking about a Rosewill Green Series 630W PSU. It has great reviews and is now around the same price as the CX500. I know this was reviewed by hardwaresecrets and given the golden award as well.

If you're going by store reviews - they're 90% BS. Green power supplies aren't any more efficent than those that are labeled 80+ platinum. That PSU is made by ATNG - that's very bad. You want something that's made by Seasonic, Delta, Sirtec, or Super Flower.

Are there any affordable (under $60) PSUs made by those manufacturers that will fit my needs? How do I see who manufactured the psu? I'm trying to stay under $60 because I'm already $30 over budget :/

Thanks for all your replies.
