Some 140mm fans for my new PC

Hello,

The time has come. I have decided that my CM Storm Scout just isn't enough for the next year of planned upgrades, and it's time for a change. I've decided on a black NZXT Switch 810, because as soon as I saw it I fell in love. So, as my life is based around the colours black and red, I'll be replacing the fans with some red LED ones.

However, this is a problem. The Zaward Golf III LED's are beautiful, in terms of 60cfm and 12 dbA, but I don't know what they look like on. Are they even mildly red illuminated, as the blades are pure red and the LEDs are white. Anyone have these? Are they good?

If anyone else could recommend me some Red LED case fans that match the below criteria, I'd be pretty grateful. Or are the Zawards the best you can get?

Must be very quiet. I'm having 6-8 of these in my system, and quietness is a priority!
Ideally less than £15 each!
Red LED!

Best answer will be selected!

Best Regards
Luke

Through voltage can 3pin fans be controlled, if it was a 4pin connection (on both sides) you could also do it through PWM.

I dont own any personally, but helped a friend build a rig where he used a few.
Air moved, kind of hard to quantify. Most I can say is look at the CFM rating and estimate based on % of fan speed.
The fans arent bright like most LED fans, the lighting effect is limited to within the fan. Basically it wont light up what surrounds it. If your after something to do that, I suggest looking into dedicated lighting solutions like Bitfenix Alchemy LED strips or the NZXT Hue.

The LED lighting inside the fan is quite bright, easily visible.
Never heard of those Zaward fans until now, so no idea on them.
A very good looking fan I have found is Bitfenix Spectre Pro's, the look amazing. I'm not exaggerating when I say they look like the image. They also come in a range of sizes and are decent enough fans.

In regards to silence, with that many fans you will need a dedicated fan controller. A fan plugged straight into the PSU will be loud no matter what, you need a way to slow them down.
I use an NZXT Sentry Mix and couldn't be happier with it, but unfortunately its out of production now. Lamptron, NZXT, Fractal Design and even Bitfenix offer fairly good controllers.

Right, so will a fan controller control any 3 pin fan? And do you own any of the Spectre Pro fans? If so, how much air do they push when you set them quietly. Also, how bright are they?

Okay. So what I think I may do is use some of the NZXT LED strips on my PC, and just put some of those Zawards in, as they get rave reviews everywhere. Thanks for your help!
