The best processor Asrock G31M-S can work with...

Here's necessary info :

I guess the best processor Asrock G31M-S can work with is Penryn Quad Core Yorkfield but I want to be sure, is it right ? If not, what's that best processor ?

How good is that best processor ? Is there a list of processors with rates where I can compare that best processor ?

Best proc for that mobo will be q9650, but they are hard to come by. Prob only second hand is the way to get them (ebay etc.) Waste of time though, a new system or basics for a new system would cost maybe 300. so saving your money, and getting a new system will give you much better options, than updating an old one with your only upgrade option. You may be able to transfer some components from your existing set-up, saving more moeny too. My two cents. Thanks.

Looks like Keith is correct in that the best processor for that motherboard would be the Intel Core2Quad Q9650. However, I think the rest of your system specifications need to be taken into account before any recommendations should be given.

Here is Tom's Hardware Best Gaming CPU for the Money Hierarchy Chart. This should give you a general idea of how processors stack up against each other.

Also, what's the best GPU that works with this motherboard and would that be too good or bad to work with the rest ? Which GPU would you suggest ?

What graphics card you eventually get is going to depend on what CPU you get as well as what power supply you have/upgrade to. The motherboard appears to be PCI-E v1.1 compliant. This means any PCI-E graphics card on the market will be compatible. If you're willing to go with the Intel Q9650 as well as a quality 500 watt power supply, I'd probably recommend something along the lines of the AMD HD7850 or NVidia GTX660Ti for a graphics card.
