Installed my new noctua nh-d14 on my 3570k and just wanted some opinions on my temps so far please :)

currently running prime 95 as i speak, been going for around 20-30 mins now.
My vcore is set to 1.080v in the bios, so far no crashes or blue screens :)

temps on core temp after all this max temps are

core-0 - 61c
core-1 - 61c
core-2 - 61c
core-3 - 59c

are these looking good, and do you think i have room to maybe push the overclock further ?

From what I know, you might be able to squeeze out 200Mhz but you won't really need it unless your counting on every single bit for a game or something like that. I wouldn't recommend it, that's my opinion.

EDIT: Sorry, you will be able to squeeze out 200Mhz but watch out for 400Mhz.

i also just realised im using the ULNA cables as instructions said makes the fan quieter, upon research i found it does this simply because it reduces its RPM, would i get even better temps by removing the ULNA cables to allow more RPM ?

OH YEAH! My heatsink is stock and @ 4.4Ghz it goes at 2400RPM(Max 3400RPM) and my cores are 48c so yes it will help out alot. I personally don't care about sound.

Well i removed the cables started prime95 up all over again my rpm is now above 1200, max temp on core now reached 59c so looks like i saved another could degrees :)

one of the cores went to max 63 before cables removed, as my first post max says 61, but went up a bit on further use of prime95

That's good news. 200Mhz extra might bring it back up to 63 but you'll be safe as long as run prime for at least an hour with no bad signs. Even 400Mhz might be good considering you fan has no limit anymore but then you have to watch out for case temperatures.

yep seems like i got a little bit of playing room, going to do a couple of 3dmark11 benchmarks see what my scores have improved by with a cpu overclock.

Then maybe after nearly a week of fiddling i might actually play crysis 3, dead island riptides, cities xl and f1 2012 i especially bought for my new build lol

Do you know what the ambient room temp is??? I have my 3570k overclocked to 4.2Ghz at a very similar voltage with a Hyper 212 Evo push-pull, although as I type I'm trying for 4.6/4.7 as I'm feeling brave/stupid :-\
Anyway your temps are absolutely fine, if you're looking for a few comparisons, your temps are a little higher than mine, but then I have a LOT of cooling in my case which might account for a bit of a difference, and slightly lower than my best mate who has an almost identical rig and set up to me. His runs slightly hot as he is concerned about noise so he only has a little amount of cooling in his case. Mine idles at 30c when fix at 4.2 and under full load with Prime95 55c max.

As for pushing it further, well as I said above I'm feeling brave so literally all day I've been pushing and pushing mine trying to get to 4.6 or 4.7. I'm currently stable after an 90mins of running Prime at 4.6Ghz @ 1.210 with temps idling at about 34c and 74c under full load.

Hope this helps a little, if you want any more info let me know =)
