I did a quick restore on my Dell Dimension E520 and now keyboard in locked in BIOS screen and won't let me type in password. The keyboard is fine. I tried unplugging and plugging it back in, tried taking out the CMOS battery, waiting 30 and putting it back in, none of these things worked. I'm now trying to locate CMOS jumper to reset it, but can't find it. Please help.

The cmos jumper is a two pin header located next to the pcie slot at the end that does NOT have the card clip. There are two headers in the same place, one below the other. The one closest to the cpu is cmos, the one just below it is the clear password jumper.

The cmos header will NOT have a jumper on it, but the clear password should. Power down the pc, remove the ac line cord, press the power button to discharge any caps then move the jumper from the clear password to the cmos and leave it there for 10 seconds. Return the jumper to the clear password header and reboot.

This procedure also clears the password.

Battery should be out for at least 15 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours, 30 means seconds? CMOS jumper will do the same, no difference, just preference.
