I am just starting my first computer build, and I am on a budget. I am looking at APU's because I cant afford a dedicated graphics card, and I am a mediocre gamer. I just need some advice and knowledge on what cpu to pick. I have 2 AMD APU's picked out, and will list them below. I would like your opinions and any/all help would be great. I plan on overclocking them. I am open to any suggestions for other CPU's, so feel free to comment with you opinion. Thanks! CPU's are as follows:

AMD A6-5400K Trinity 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 65W Dual-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7540D

AMD A8-3870K Unlocked Llano 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D

How tight is your budget?

I'm loathe to recommend an APU, because when you DO get the money to upgrade in the future, you won't be able to get good performance without upgrading the entire thing.

If you can, get an h77 motherboard, an ivy bridge Pentium, and a 7750. It will perform far better than an APU, those three parts together will be about $300, and it will be WAY cheaper and easier to upgrade in the future should you choose to.

I don't necessarily need a quad core, but I do do some multi-tasking. And budget wise, I would prefer a 500 maximum as it is only my first build. Thanks for the input! I will check out the h77 with the pentium ivy bridge and 7750
