So id like to name my main pc [ WITHOUT THE CD PLAYER] - PC A
my ext hard drive as - Ext HDD
Second pc with the cd player - PC B
Heres what iv tried on my own and still failed.
So i compressed the C drive on PC A. It didnt start. One of my friends had burned me a cd for the windows 7 version n i thot that ill load that on my ext hdd [ coz the pc a doesnt have the cd player] and run the setup. But it doesnt work. I copied the files on the ext hdd using PC B and plugged the ext hdd to PC A. i went in bios changed the boot sequence and started the pc. but it didnt work.

I thot tht maybe i need to install the setup on the ext hdd and then plug it in. so i ran the setup on the ext hdd but it said that the application is not a valid windows image.

I really dont know what to do. Should I try downloading a whole new package from torrents and load that maybe?
I cannot format the pc or buy a new copy of windows 7.
Sorry i couldnt write properly im really panicking here. Its my dad's pc and its fucked up. please help !

Thank you

I can't suggest you do anything illegal such as getting a copy of Windows 7 using torrents as it would be a violation of forum rules and I personally would not recommend it anyway. With torrents you run the risk of having some unwanted virus/malware/Trojan installed. Part of the problem could be that you compressed drive C:. I'm assuming you used whatever comes with Windows to compress the drive. Have you tried, or are you able, to decompress (? not sure if that is the right word) drive c:?
