hard disk boot problem

hi guys my old pc has an Seagate ST3160215AS hardisk @7200.10 -160gb

it takes long time to boot (to bios screen itself) it nearly takes >=10min to arrive

at my windows desktop whats the problem and how to solve it pls help me

There could be a millions reasons why your computer is taking so long. You have not given us very much information on your situation.

Anyway, the most common problem is because you have a ton of crap installed on your computer and your system is loading tons and tons of drivers.

dude i hav just formatted my whole hard disk but the problem exists still

How does your drive boot to Windows if you just formatted it? Do you mean you freshly installed Windows over a reformat??

i formatted my old OS ie windows 7 ultimate and installed windows xp sp2 but again problem persists

Is your hard drive plugged into the same SATA port? If don't have the right drivers for your third party ports installed, it can take a long time to boot.

Download seatools from seagate's site and check the disk's health.
