This is my computer setup:
Asrock HM61/U3S3
G.Skill 8gb ram
HD 6870
i5 3570k
Seasonic M12II-520 watts

I had a i5 2400 before the i5 3570k. I just replaced the i5 2400 with the 3570k and after that, none of my peripherals would work. My display doesn't work, my mouse, keyboard, audio, ethernet all don't work. I know that they aren't even getting powered because they don't get lit up while they get lit up immediately which connected to a different computer. The other components work just fine, the fans of all the components get started up and get lit up, but I still can't get connected to my display. I'm scared that I may have done some damage to my board through static electricity in my hands, but that should mean that the whole mobo gets messed up, not just a certain part. Anyways does anybody have any advice for me? Help!

It should. Many older LGA 1155 boards will still support Ivy Bridge but only with the newest BIOS. The newer 7x chipset boards have native support for Ivy. You will have to put your old chip back in. Major pain but the only way to do it.

I just put the i5 2400 back in. Didn't work. My all my fans are going super crazy though. The fan sound is extremely loud for some reason... My mouse lights up while my display and keyboard dont so I'm still not sure what's going on.

EDIT: Now it's working. I'll update the bios and see how it goes with the i5 3570k
