Hot Swap Drive Rack - need to unmount drives?

Hi everyone,
I've got a 3.5" SATA drive in a 5.25" Startech hotswap rack in my server.
Do I need to unmount the drive in Windows before I eject it, or can it just be ejected?
I can put a link to the hotswap rack at an online shop if it's allowed.

It is always advisable to to unmount a drive before doing a hotswap. Otherwise you face data loss and corruption, and risk physical damage to the drive.
