Is My GTX295 DEAD?

Hello everyone, this is my first post here but not the first time I’ve visited this site, actually every time i have a computer related problem i come here because it seems people are very friendly
and really know there computer stuff, so thanks in advance for all your comments and help.

So this is my problem.
I recently took apart a gtx 295 that was very dusty and wouldn’t play games for more than 5 min without crashing due to overheating with fan speed up to 80%. i looked around for videos on how to take apart a gtx 295 and luckily found one. so i start the process and everything is going well, i start cleaning the card as best i can, i clean the processors completely from the old thermal paste and applied new one, then i start putting everything back together, and i get to the part where I'm putting the screws into the top part of the card (HDMI PART), and i get to a screw that just doesn’t want to go in to the whole. So instead of finding a way around this i start to force the screw in with a pair of pliers (I KNOW, BIG NO NO), and suddenly BAAM!!! A small little circuit brakes off.....
LONG 15min SILENCE CAME NEXT..... So after gathering myself i finish putting the card together, put it on my computer and i get this: RED LIGHT AND THE FAN IS NOT SPINNING.

So gentlemen (and maybe ladies) Should i be arranging my card's funeral? or can there still be hope for a revival?. There's a gentleman on ebay that’s selling a gtx295 that’s broken but says the hdmi part still works. can i take that part of the card and put it on mine and solve the problem? any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone!!!

Can you upload a pic to tinypic.com and link to the picture so we can see?

I suspect it might be game over for your card. I would sell it for spares on ebay and put the money towards a new card - the 295 is pretty old now, and although it was a very good card, you can get the same or better performance from a much quieter/cooler/less power hungry card.

A 660ti would perform better while drawing much less power and creating much less heat.

Well this card was free, and i've seen on some compare sites that the gtx295 competes with a gtx 570 and the gtx 570 is like $200 that's why I'm trying to see if there's hope for it, but worst case scenario i will probably end up selling it for parts, by the way here is a pic of the piece of circuit i broke off...and thanks for your help!!!

BTW the 660ti is almost identical in performance to a gtx 580 with the 660ti being faster in some games and the 580 being faster in some games. The hassle to fix your gtx 295 is just not worth it but if you still want to fix it then go ahead. Afterall, its your choice.
