How do I retrieve the data on it if my computer no longer shows it's connected?
The hard drive was unplugged as the computer was starting up and since then it's not recognized. It shows in the Device Manager but not in My Computer.
The green light starts flashing. Is it fried?
I've been searching for a DIY way but can't find anything. What about opening it up? But then what?
I don't want to hear about how I should have more than one backup for important things! I know this and believe me I'm slapping myself
I really need to get the data back and I really want to do it myself.
