Hello! I wanted to build a new gaming desktop and since I know nothing about computer I told my really close friend who knows a lot to make one for me.

He gave me this link of the computer he made: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/UBZy

Is it good guys? He told me that it fits my needs and that I don't need anything better, true or no?

The motherboard is of much higher quality.
The RAM is low profile which will ensure you have no clearence issues.
The SSD is a bit slower and so is the hard drive. Note that the difference is not something you will ever notice.
The case used in the build - the Lian Li K65 has a very nice look and functionality, it's a lot cheaper but it still uses only high quality materials.
And last but not least, this build uses two GTX 670's which are a lot faster than a single HD 7970.

Kamen did a good job of putting together a build for you.
If you choose to stay with your parts, Get the evo 212 as he listed above. Cheaper and works great. You only need 8 GB of ram for gaming anything more is more or less just bragging rights it won't benefit your performance. An for a single card that you have listed above you could use a 600-650 w psu.

But again for the money.. I like Kamens build.

Hi 22Kokila20!

You friend made a great build!

However, unless you're a professional video editor or the like, you might not be able to fully utilize some of the parts.

Take the 16GB ram. 8GB will be more than sufficient.

The 750W Psu should also be replaced with a 500~550W rated Psu. Your system won't be able to fully utilize the 750W, unless of course you're planning to do something like a 2x Crossfire.

Good luck!

Ok then I will go for 8GB of ram. I was searching for power supplies and I saw the seasonic m12ii that says it's modular unlike the corsair. What does that mean? What's a modular power supply, is it better?

A modular psu is one where you can plug in and unplug specific wires. I would always prefer a modular psu. It's easier for cable management and you can simply remove the wires you don't need. They are a bit more expensive but imo WELL worth the cost

*edit* look at the photos and check out the back of it. To see what im talking about.

In a nutshell, a modular psu has a detachable cable system. The unused cables can be stored somewhere else, and this will reduce clutter, will remove the risk of dangling cables interfering with other components, and will improve case airflow. In most cases, it is also more expensive than the non-modular psu.

Good to see that you're going 8GB! :)

620w is more than sufficient.
