Since it appears the GTX 780 is going to be priced around 760.00 USD, I was wondering if it made sense to just go ahead and purchase a Titan. This will be my first build where money is (relatively) not a factor. I read the review of the Titan and saw it was more of a "compute" card so I was wondering how it will stack up against the 780.-given that we don't know the final 780 specs. Is the Titan a waste? Thanks for any feedback!

I find the Titan a waste if you are getting a card for gaming. A GTX690 is priced the same and perform MUCH better. Now IF you are limited to a card that uses less power and generates less heat THEN the Titan makes sense in some way. But then i would just look at an HD7970.
SO yeah, GTX690 in my opinion if you looking to spend $1000.

Well no one but Nvidia knows for sure what the 780 is, will be priced at or when its coming, pretty hard question to answer.
