As suggested I will go for an 8gb Ram. What are your thoughts about the PSU, motherboard and the chasis.

Mentioned below are the links for each of these components:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z77X UD3H http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4153#sp
PSU Corsair VS 650 http://www.corsair.com/en/power-supply-units/vs-series-power-supply-units/vs-seriestm-vs650-650-watt-power-supply.html
Chasis Thermaltake Element v Basic Nvidia Edition. http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model_Specification.aspx?id=C_00001640
The chasis already has 5 built in fans.

Thank you for your reply. As far as HD 7870 is concerned the reviews on some websites forced to go for nvidia card rather than an AMD card. Initially I was also favoring the HD 7870.

Which manufacturer is the best for HD 7870 cards. There is gigabyte, asus, his and sapphire. What do u think

Forget to add a few other things. I wont be overclocking or using a SLI or Crossfire Setup. I am employed as an accountant and gaming will only be a weekend entertainment activity. Thank you TenPc and Whisp_362 for your opinios. Awaiting further reply from you people. Loads of excitement.

Apologies i meant the new 7870XT LE (Tahiti) review here (Also implies Sapphire are the best manufacturer) -

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5158/sapphire_radeon_hd_7870_xt_tahiti_le_2gb_with_boost_overclocked_video_card_review/index.html

I personally like both cards, but i would shift towards Nvidia. The AMD cards are power houses at a good price, whilst the Nvidia cards offer a great balance between power consumption and overall GFX processing power.

As for the power unit, i think 650 watts it plenty for what you want to run, however i cannot find the AMP rating of that unit, which is equally as important as the wattage. (Longentivity, heat ect...ect...) If the amp rating is ~40-50 on that single 12v rail then its a good buy.

A further bit of advice would be to wait a month or so for the new Haswell chips to come from Intel, as they are meant to be cooler and will be faster for roughly the same price, in additon i think Nvidia are releasing their new 7xx series cards around then as-well and these would be around 10-15% faster than the offerings we have now. - again at a similar price.

In addition to the above:

A good quality case should be sturdy and with room for exansion and a bottom mounted PSU!!!!!

It should have the ability to mount 120mm fans at the front and rear with additions to the top. For adequate flow a minium of three fans is a good idea, one intake, two exhaust (Rear and top)

If you scout around, there are some mid-large towers which are cheaper and good value.

What are your thoughts on the other components. Mentioned below are the links for each component if you want to check further

PSU Corsair 650 VS http://www.corsair.com/en/power-supply-units/vs-series-power-supply-units/vs-seriestm-vs650-650-watt-power-supply.html

Could you please explain the concept of Haswell Chips. Is it something to do with the processor.

Type in Haswell into any major search engine and you will find the answer in more detail. - To summarise Haswell in the new "tock" in Intel's processor design, on simple terms it means that is packs newer technology into an updated design which is faster than the previous generation (Ivy bridge, 3570k I5).

The motherboard looks ok and will be sufficient if you are not overclocking. - Having said that, some people will suggest others which are similar and maybe better value. - A Z77 chipset is a must along with a good stable board and as many features as possible for a reasonable price.

Take a look at this web page:

http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/index.aspx

If you want me to give you possible options about which motherboards you should consider it will take a bit of time as i dont have that knowledge to hand.

Gigabyte is an AMD chipset and prefers AMD type graphic cards but not totally exclusively, they just seem to get better along with each other.
Cinsidering that it is an Intel CPU and not AMD infers that Nvidia might actually be a better choice as Intel and Nvidia were (pre 2006) hand-in-hand compatible.

HOWEVER, after viewing the motherboard specifications, the cpu socket can only take AMD processors so your choice of the Intel CPU won't work. "Support for AMD AM3 Phenom™ II processor / AMD Athlon™ II processor"
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3425#sp

So, after that revelation, I'd suggest the AMD video card would best suit you.

Hi,

I checked the specifications for the Gigabyte motherboard and I can confirm that this is an Intel chipset rather than an AMD chipset.
Please check the link below:

I wanted your advice regarding the Nvidia GPU namely GTX 660 Ti. Is this is card worth buying and will the Corsair VS 650 (^50 Watt) be compatible with it. Furthermore, I needed your suggestion about my PC Case which is mentioned in my previous threads.

Awaiting your reply.

HI,

Your case is more than acceptable for this configuration.

The PSU with 650 watts, and 50 amps??? (check) will be more than sufficient. - Check it has two 6pin pci-e power adapters (Search google for the images...text is self explanatory :))

The GFX card can run most modern games at 1600x1080 maxed or with high settings.

I hope this helps! - Also look on Scan as they has a few deals.
