Hi.
I usually use my monitor with a VGA input, and i know that that is not ideal as i do want the sound with HDMI connection, but when I do connect via HDMI the normal resolution that I use (1680x1050) with VGA looks nothing like it does normally.

When connected to HDMI the resolution that it bumps up to that actually looks decent (1920x1080) does not fit the screen and it goes off of the edge.

Can anyone help? I can get images if that helps?

Thanks in advance

Can you manually change the hdmi settings to 1680x1050? What video card, driver, and monitor do you have? Usually windows auto-detects screen resolution if you have the proper drivers installed.

Most monitors have a menu that you can use to fix scan problems, check the manual.

Also, Your Graphics card driver/software should allow some changes.

Example I have a AMD GPU and am using CCC. Under My Digital Flat-panels there is an option to set scaling. Says "Adjust the edges of your display area to better fit your digital flat-panel"

I can but it looks like crap, and goes off of the screen.
No video card (not until this wed anyway) but using hd4000 off of the mobo.
latest drivers for that.
