So my setup has been built around playing nice with my Uverse Gateway. Basically the Router is hooked into a Lan port to the gateway and I have enabled DMZ-Plus to disable the firewall on the gateway's end. Wireless on the gateway has been turned off.

My issue is if I try and plus my Thecus N4100 pro into the router, it doesn't see it at all. The only way I can get my N4100 pro to work is to plug it directly into the gateway with my desktop pc and in that case the gateway wireless has been turned off only my desktop pc see's the nas...

It's definitely not ideal, and I am not sure what to do. I wanted to be able to use this router to do the bulk of the pc related things and only have the gateway handle uverse tv (WAP)...

So anything you plug into the gateway will get an internal IP address? Is so, then turn off the DHCP on the router, assign it a static IP, can even be out of range, and then plug stuff into the router. That could be what's messing things up. I use about 5 routers around my house to add wifi access points and to spread internet from floor to floor, so I have this.

Modem->Main router with DHCP turned on, this main router will give any device an IP address through any connection.
Main Router->5 other routers throughout the house via long cables.

My main router's DHCP is set to give out IP's starting at 192.168.1.100 and has it's IP at 192.168.1.1

All the other routers have DHCP turned off and their IP's are static set at 192.168.1.2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. This lets me access the router via the web interface if I need, keeps them out of the DHCP pool which starts at a 100, and they don't do anything for assigning IP's with the DHCP turned off.

it appears as though the router is getting a static ip, when i disabled dhcp on the router all devices hooked up via wireless stopped working/getting internet. right now i have everything plugged into the router (my pc and the nas) and the router doesn't even list it in the table of devices. see's the computer, my samsung tv, and all my wireless devices. if i go into the gateway i think it lists the NAS (it calls it RM4100 i think)... But unless i plug directly into the gateway, i can't get this nas to work.

One other thing to point out, it has a Lan and Wan port, i have tried both to no luck

I have no idea what the uverse box is like, so I'm just guessing here trying to help you. How many ports does it have for ethernet out? Sounds like you just need a switch hooked up to it to spread the net out more, which turning off DHCP on the router and assigning it a static IP in the range of the gateway device should basically turn your router in a switch.
