Need a new graphics upgrade to suit my bugdet and have a choice between the AMD Radeon HD 7770(http://tinyurl.com/cjhbwdn) or the GTX 660ti(http://tinyurl.com/c7t626y). People have told me to get the 660 but I'm not sure after reading up benchmarks and stuff, also if anyone has any other suggestions for around £160 they would be welcome

More about : choosing 660ti hd7770

The 660 (non ti) will get you like 20 fps more on several setting levels up. In other words it eats the 7770 for a snack before a snack.

BTW the card you linked is a 660 not 660ti. Huge difference.

Are you meaning the 650ti instead? That is more comparible to the 7770 than a 660ti is.

If that is the price range you are looking to stay under, the 660 is much more powerful than the 7770.

Those two cards aren't even close. The 660 ti is more than twice as fast as a 7770. The GTX 650, which uses the GK 107 mobile GPU, is a bit slower but is a much better comparison to the 7770. The GTX 650 ti, which uses the desktop GK 106, is a bit faster but also a better comparison than the 660 ti.

On the flip side, a better AMD comparison to the 660 ti is the 7870 or 7850. The 660 ti falls right in between the two and is very close to both.

If you had a choice between the 7770 and the 660 ti, you should definitely go for the 660 ti. There are some mobile GPUs that perform better than a 7770. It is more of an entry level card for people who want to play games in directx 11 but not on high or even medium settings. A 660 ti will allow you to play the same DX11 games in medium and in some cases high settings with decent FPS.

The link for the 660 ti is actually a link to a GTX 660. They are two completely different cards. But, even then, the GTX 660 non ti is a better choice. It, too, is nearly twice as good as a 7770.
