Canon SX20IS 'No memory card' error

Hello,
I have been using a 8gb SD card and after a day's usage the card is not detectable by the camera. The same card works fine in my another camera. It just says 'no memory card is inserted'.Is there any way to figure it out before I find a canon service center?

No. None of the other memory card works on this camera. I also read that this might be because of a damaged card. I inspected the card I have been using and some part of the SD card is broken. Trying to look if any of those tiny pieces is caught inside
