Hi guys,
I have a hi res display, which must be driven off a discrete graphics card (cant use the mobo output, using a 7770 atm).
I to make my pc fanless for 99% of the time, apart from when I want a bit of casual fun (7770 does this for me fine).
So basically, I want to buy a cheap card(5450) to drive the display, then use the 7770 when I want to play some games(I do this maybe a couple of weeks every 2-3 months).
Any ideas on how to do this?(or completely turn the fans off on the 7770)
thanks!

I'd look into a passive cooling solution for your 7770. I know a few companies have been toying with the idea. Here's an example of a 7750 that is passively cooled. There are no fans, so you just need good airflow in your case: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1159&pid=1471&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

There are other cards too, but if I were you, I'd maybe try pairing your 7770 with this: http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/430/accelero-s1-plus.html?c=2182

Then just pick up a good thermal paste for your GPU and possible some better case fans to provide airflow for that cooler. This stuff seems to perform well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154012 as does Arctic Silver 5, which I use.

Those are silent solutions, then you can use your 7770 all the time.
