Recently my windows 7 has become practically unusable and I'm unable to determine any cause as when I get to the desktop, windows begins constantly freezing, usually lasting from a few secs to about 7 minutes. There are also various error messages that occur which say things like 'program has failed to load' 'or missing file error' until it says 'windows has experience a critical error and must be restarted' to which all it does is close everything except the desktop backround.
I've tried going into startup repair, system image restore, system restore, but it tells me that I am unable to use these. Safe mode has the same issues as well.
It started happening after I did two system restores, I thought windows had an issue since it was crashing but it was a hardware issue, which set me back a couple days to my knowledge. After that I installed a new GPU, CPU, Motherboard. The only effect I was able to determine this had on Windows was that I had to Re-Verify it. Now it constantly freezes when I attempt to do something, I'm unable to open any programs as it just gives an error message, and even opening the start menu takes about 10 minutes of constant freezing.
Currently I've been thinking of backing up some of my important files to my Linux drive and resetting windows, but I wanna know if I can save everything first.
