My motherboard was fried and I was advised to buy a new 1, the problem is that all the motherboard for a toshiba sat pro have a socket of LGA 1366 but my laptop (before it was destroyed) has an i5 second generation cpu. My question is that is it okay for me to buy a new i7 for my new mobo? I cannot buy a new laptop coz my mother will get mad.

toshiba satellite c660-20, it has an i5-2410M core before then this new motherboard has an LGA 1366 socket but they have the same mobo number
