Currently I have a PC that was designed for home use as it has a lot of HHD, not for gaming. But I've decided to switch from a console to PC as I see it's affordable and has extreme performance, which the consoles couldn't even dream of perfecting.

On with the question, I'm quite new to the PC language.

At the moment I have an Acer Aspire X3812, search up the acer website. It's very small and I was thinking of buying one of those Cit Mars Midi Tower gaming case, additionally I think my PC has something like 300W PSU and I'm going to upgrade to 450W or maybe 500W. Last but not least I'm getting a GeForce GT630 2GB DDR3 and I'm not sure if all this would fit in the case.

Please post anything that you think will help me, thanks.

What games are you playing? The GT630 is not a very good GPU for playing modern games-it is a low-end card. When upgrading your power supply make sure it is from Corsair, Seasonic or XFX. Other, cheap and substandard models have a high chance of failure and can take out other components as well. This is from personal experience and is common sense among the computer enthusiast community.

Everything should fit in the case IF the motherboard is in the ATX/microATX form factor. Also you will find when you place the motherboard in the new case there will be no back panel.

A LGA775 system. G43 chipset. It does not say exactly what the processor is and how much memory it has and a 220 watt power supply.

I want to customly build a gaming PC that will cost me around £300-£400 and at least play modern games at a solid 30FPS 1280x1024 medium settings. Forgot about upgrading the other thing, it's only for home use.

Processor : Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.66GHz
GPU : Intel Express Chipset G45/G43
RAM : 3GB not sure what DDR
PSU : 220W
OS : Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium

The DDR3-1600 kit is currently cheaper than any available DDR3-1333 kit.

In fact, SPD speed of the ram is 9-9-9-24 @ 1333.

That's a really nice build you put together there.

I think this is real value for money, I had about the same budget as this and ended up with a cheap MSI board that has numerous faults, a dual-core processor with 2GB of memory that I already had, and a 7770.
