battlefield 3 artifacts

hellor guys. i started playing bf3 sp campaing yesterday, and today it started some weird glitch. look the screens:

this problem happens when i am playing for some time, the last 3 missions i made had this problem. gpu usage is in 80%, i am playing on ultra without msaa using a gtx 660ti sc.

I frequently get this on my GTX 660 as well as my old 550ti, and I am fairly sure that it is a BF3 problem as I never get it in any other game. Usually I just restart the game and the problem goes away.

Out of interest are you on the latest beta nvidia drivers (320.00) as I found using them caused it too happen far more often than the WHQL (314.22)

yes i am using the latest beta driver, in this driver i played alan wake and dead space without any problem o glitch. when i restart the game the problem goes away but after some minutes, like 15, 20 it come back again. im afraid that this problem affect multiplayer too. and usually every time i saw pictures like this was from graphics cards hardware problem, and i was afraid that my almost new 660ti was failing.

is not a high end card but with everything on ultra it can run at solid 60fps on single player. like i said before i have no need for anti aliasing, and with this option off it can run at 100fps, and because of too high frame rate i turn on vsync. fps never drop from 60. crysis 2 and far cry 3 was more demanding than bf3. now i tried to load my game and when loads game freezes. i tried on low and 640x480 to make sure but nothing, i restarted the chapter and everything went fine, no glitches until now.

i have not much experience but i think that may be a game or a driver issue. since i am not using the max capatity of the gpu i think that it can handle it fine with no glitches. far cry3 i could run in 60fps with no AA and sometimes frame rate dropped to 40 in most complex parts, and the game run fine from start to end. so the problem is not from high gpu usage. i may be wrong but is was i noticed.
i tested mp and had no problems so far, but i not played so much because the ping of my isp is too high, more than 200ms. died so much times.

Your GPU is fine, I have a friend with one and he plays the multiplayer on Ultra with MSAA at 4x and gets a solid smooth framerate.

Try rolling back your driver to the WHQL version and also repair install BF3 via origin.

If a faulty GPU is the cause, then it should be under warranty and get replaced.
Finally the high ping in BF3 might be due to battlelog not searching for servers in a regions close to your location, so change the region option in the server browser.

after playing bf3 yesterday, i started playing just cause 2, and one time when i killed an enemy with red clothes the clothes made a red lane in entire screen, just like bf3 artifacts, but this only happened one time, should i get worried and ask for a replacement for my card?
there is some software to test vga and look for artifacts and other problems?

i will try underclock my card but i already came overclocked. i never mess with over/underclock just to avoid problems, and if i have to underclock the card to get the card working fine then i should rma because evga that overclocked it, am i right?. i will have time only at night when i am at home, and i will underclock and revert to whql driver, but i want something to test, bf3 ony happened sometimes and just cause 2 only happened once, my brother played skyrim yesterday with a lot of mods for 4 hours and nothing happened, so there is no way to test the problem using games since there is uncertain when problem will happen. there is some software to make this test?

you do realize skyrim is a dx9 game and doesn't put the strain that a dx10/11 game will?

the reason for telling you to under clock was to see if it would run without problems. did I say above that OC cards are sometimes almost pushed to their max........... and look at EVGA. they have several OC clocked cards. the ones that are less than top end failed to run at top end so they put another name on them. ( less overclocked version )
send the card back. don't even screw with it. put a mark on it somewhere so you don't get the same one back.

i came home earlier today to make the tests, just played a little more just cause 2 to see if problem appears again. and it appeared:

now i am reverting the driver to whql and i will try to underclock the card, but what clock can i put in evga precision? i just need to do this to underclock? i already contacted the store that i bought the card and will take 2 days for the answer, and i want to make some final tests.

EDIT:Reverted to whql driver, and launched bf3. put everything on ultra and msaa 4x and disabled vsync to max out the card. stays for 40 min playing and everything went fine, is not a conclusive test, but i will play just cause 2 to test.
