Probable airflow Issue

Case: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced
CPU: AMD A8-3850 (Stock Cooler/Heatsink)
Case Fans: Stock 120mm Cooler Master (Front of case), 120mm Cooler Master Excalibur HDD fan, stock 80mm Cooler Master 2nd CPU fan
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 650 Ti
PSU: Corsair AX850

I was reading up on water cooling and it mentioned that a case with bad airflow may not benefit as much from water cooling so I thought I'd test out the flow on mine. Apparently a greater than 5% deviation in temps with the case off as opposed to the case on would mean it has bad air flow. Here are some temps I took with Speed fan:

Case on; Idle: CPU 36c / GPU 34c/ MB 35c
Case on; Running Far Cry 3: CPU 57c / GPU 60c / MB 46c

Case off; Idle: CPU 36c / GPU 30c / MB 32 c
Case off; Running Far Cry 3: CPU 50c / CPU 56c / MB 37c

I use running that game as the example of stress because that's the system-intensive thing I run on my PC (I don't render video or use Photoshop).

I've always wondered if the small 80mm fan on the side is disrupting airflow since its blowing air into the side of the case while the two 120mm's blow air from the front of the case to the back vent. Maybe switching that fan to an exhaust fan could help with airflow?

Also, the GPU deviations seem normal since, without the case, its granted quite a bit more airflow than the vent on the side of the case. The CPU deviation and system temps seem concerning to drop so much without a case. Am I wrong or is there something I could be doing to help the situation?

From your description, it appears you don't have a fan on the back for exhaust.
Front blowing in, side blowing in...nothing blowing out.

You need something to extract the hot air. Get an exhaust fan in the back.
Or move the side fan to the back (exhaust).

While I agree, the issue with that would be that there is nowhere to mount a fan blowing air out. There isn't a lot of clearance between the PSU and the CPU fan (prob less than an inch) so I can't mount any larger CPU fan. My other possible option for a CPU fan would be something low-profile like a GeminII M4. But as for something to blow air out? Not sure I have a viable option.

The 80mm is on the complete other side of the motherboard from the CPU. Its listed as a CPU fan, since it's closest to that.

A picture here is indicated. I'm having a hard time visualizing a case (non-SFF) that does not have space for a rear exhaust fan.

In any case, that is what is needed. Some sort of hot air exhaust.
(pun intended)

Some comments from Newegg:
"Cons: Really needs a dedicated exhaust fan."

"Cons: Cooling is decent for the form factor, but still wish it was better. Added another 120mm Cooler Master SickleFlow fan to the HDD cage. Switched the 80mm fan to an exhaust. Will probably be swapping the 80mm with a slim 120mm fan, as the 80mm fan does very little."

Try flipping the side fan to exhaust.

Sounded like a great idea but wasn't. Part of the reason is the memory sticks are right in front of the fan and while I would think that maybe this would mean the fan is probably not useful as an intake or exhaust, the CPU heat spiked well over 60c with the new configuration. May just have to accept bad air airflow.
