Hello, ive got a Gigaset Se567(modem built in) and a Netgear R6300 Router, But, im wanting to disable the Gigaset router so i can portforward through the Netgear for a minecraft server, But, if i disable the Gigaset, wont it disable the Modem to?

If its impossible, Please tell me how to portforward through both of the routers...

Okay, so, that would require going through into the router? or flicking the switch on the back part of the router/modem physically?

EDIT: okay, so, this technique is called a Bridge mode kinda thing, right? beacuse, if it is, im going to follow this website for how to change it:

http://www.networkoverload.com/forum/networking/turn_your_gigaset_se567_modem_wireless_switch_bridge_mode

Is this a correct method?

Uh... you're not quite understanding. You don't need to bridge anything.

Your modem also has a router and switch built in (and probably a firewall and maybe a wireless access point). It's usually trivial to disable those functions so it acts as just a modem.

Do you own the modem or are you leasing from your ISP?

Ah, anyways, i bridged my router/modem, and, i can now portforward my server, So, yeah, i went in, and, it had nothing to disable Isp, DNS, and other stuff, no "turn off router" so, i just bridged it, and, everything is working fine....

Bridging is not the proper way to do it. A network bridge is connecting two routers on the same network and there are various reasons to do that. You don't have two network segments, you have one network and two routers. You should disable the router you don't need -- the one on your modem.

Okay, so, when i go into the settings, there isnt anything that will say "Disable Router" just security, and wireless settings, i could turn off wireless, but, that wouldn't do anything, so, is there anything Bad about doing a bridge if i have 2 routers and 1 modem? like, performance decrease? And, if there isnt, i guess then explain how to remove the router part of it.

If it's working for you, I guess there's no harm in doing it, but it's not optimal -- there will be a performance decrease but it might not be perceptible.

I really can't give you EXACT instructions without seeing what you're looking at.

Could you give me an % for the decrease? Anything below 7 Is fine for me....

EDIT: Here is a main screen for the Internet Settings, Its a bit outdated, but, same settings...

One thing to mention, i was reading online on this thread:http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-General/any-one-own-siemens-gigaset-se567-modem-router-got-nat-2-help/td-p/27512994/page/2

And, i came across this post which is what i exactly did:

Seeing as you have a second router, what you can do is put the gigaset se567 into bridge mode (this will make it so its just as a modem) by first signing into the gigaset (default username: admin, password: telus) then go to this url 192.168.1.254/brgmode.htm and hitting apply. There is no way to access the bridge mode option through the router settings, so you will have to enter the url manually.
