Well there are issues with the AMD drivers on crossfire with stuttering (or so people say). I don't know if there really is or not, cause ive never crossfired, but I would recommend 7990.
However if you aren't biased, something like SLI 680s would be a better choice. The issues (apparently) arent as bad as crossfire so yeah. I wouldnt know from personal experience.

SLI 680 > 7990 > 690 >7970 Xfire Based not on performance, but the drivers causing stutter.

i would grab 2 670GTX for SLi over 1 7990. AMD has massive issues with xfire that need fixing before i'd ever suggest a 2 gpu solution (either in xfire or on 1 board like the dual core 7990)

you do realize what a 7990 is right? its a crossfired card. just cause its on a single card doesnt mean its not a crossfired card.

So even though its on a single PCB it still gets the same issues as a any other crossfire?

yep

the 690 suffers the same issue, but nvidia doesn't have as many issues with SLi as AMD has with xfire.
