I'd just like to check that everything here is compatible and if anyone has any improvements. I'll be using this system to play games on a 1080p tv and I already have the case.

Thanks for any feedback.

I assumed he was right up against his budget so i saw no point to pointing out there are better gpus out there. that said, IF he was to spend a little more for a 7870, he might as well spend the little extra and get a 7870XT/LE/.Myst.

Definitley get a better PSU like 650 Watt bronze, and yes the 7870 is considerably be better then the 7850, and the 7870 is great performer when it comes to overclocking, I have my 7870 at 1175Mhz

probably not for the basic 7870... though that's a great gpu... you'll see a pretty significant boost with the 7870XT/LE/.MYST version that might be worth the extra $ spent on the overall upgrade. in the end, the question is "is it in your budget?"

Hi fut1101!

It depends on how much eyecandy you want. Otherwise, the 7850 will do fine. Also, if you're comfortable with it, OC the 7850 will improve its performance by up to 20%.

Actually the cheapest 7870 on partspicker is the Club 3D CGAX-7876XT and that the one that I was pricing in. What is a good PSU I was looking at the Corsair CX500M which isn't that much more than the xfx is this any good?

I was planning on OC anyway which is one of the reasons that I've gone down the HD route as I've read they overclock better, as well as the free games which is a big plus.
