Stick with GTX 570, or upgrade to 660-680?

Hey all!

So I am getting into heavy graphics design, video production using Adobe Premiere and After Effects, and potentially animation in a few months. And I was wondering if I should upgrade just for that alone. A plus to this of course would be to get a nice performance boost in games, if I'm going to upgrade I think it'll be either the 670 or 680.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

With until the end of the month and see how the GTX 780 and GTX 770 are going to perform and be priced. Everything is just speculation at this point except release date.

I heard about the 700 series, that makes sense to wait. Thanks for the reply.

I upgraded to a 660 and you will see the difference from the 570. I have seen the 660 outperforming the 580 in most situations. So anything high than a gtx 650 will be a great upgrade

Rumors at this point have the GTX 780 being a cut down Titan and expensive. The GTX 770 should be a slightly revised GTX 680 and just renamed. Price on the 770 is not known yet. The 780 will be out May 23rd and the 770 the 30th.

The rumors though seem very doubtful. I mean, they're still using the same architecture as the Titan and 600 series, I doubt they could really improve that by much until next-gen. Idk though, we'll see I suppose.

I have a MSI GTX 560 TI TWIN FRONZ II OC 2 GB(it just bit slower than GTX 570), and i am using mostly for gaming. So far it can run all games at max settings and dx11 mode at 1280x1024 and it can also run most of them maxed at 1920x1080(but i am playing at 1280x1024 due to the old monitor that i have). So for someone like me who uses pc mainly for gaming, since the 560 ti twin fronz ii oc has good perfomance in games (for now), is it worth buying a gtx 7 or wait for 1 or years and when games become realy demanding then to go out and buy a new gpu?

I've come to the conclusion that we should wait for the GTX 700 cards, but if your card lives up through the next year, then wait for the GTX 800 series if that comes out. I'm going to hop on the 700 cards when they come out because I do more then gaming. i.e Graphics design, After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro rendering. Stuff like that.

Then i will wait till games becomes more demanding. BUT!! There is ONE game coming this year(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out of the shadows) that i will not accept to not be able to run it a 60 fps max settings. So if this game when it releases if i see that it dont run at 60 fps all the time then i will buy a GTX 770 right away! This is TMNT we are talking about and I AM THE SHREDDER !!!

Got a GTX 660 and it is a very good card, so good i am gonna buy another one and go SLI.
I use programs like Photoshop and 3D programs like Zbrush etc.
And then do some gaming on it as well all in all very good card.

Yes. As far as upgrading graphics you want to move up 3 levels on this tier list to really see a difference.

Next time start your own thread though. Threadjacking someone else's is not good forum etiquette. And asking about games that have not been released yet only gets you speculation as there is no way to know how it will run on any specific hardware.

+1 ;)
