Just wondering what's going on here. I just came back from the store and powered up my computer and I get no display. I get sound though and I can log in. The hdmi does not work in my GPU. I have already tested everything and was able to get display from a VGA cable to the monitor. But that is the only way it works. It says that There is no GPU detected even though there is. I even tried another slot. Yes I have checked to see if it is properly fastened etc. Fans spin up and everything. Is my card dead or what? So confused.

have you tried another monitor with HDMI?

as it stands the problem is most likely to be GPU or Monitor

Check your bios to make sure it has not changed to allow igpu only.

Yes and same thing. My gpu is not even detected so it can't be monitor. I would say mobo or gpu. But I can get picture through vga to motherboard.

Does your motherboard have HDMI? can you remove your Video Card and try using your onboard video?
Does your graphics card have other outputs other than HDMI, can you try those?

do you have another graphics card to try?

If you have integrated GPU inside your CPU, make sure you have disabled it in bios.

HDMI works for my motherboard. Onboard video works. I HAVE to remove my card in order to get video. And the other outputs on the GPU do not work.

So either your problem is that you have the graphics order wrong in BIOS
make sure you set the primary graphics to the card and NOT igpu or disable the igpu totally.

if that is not the issue then you have a dead graphics card.

Everything in bios is in order. I even reset my cmos to see if I can get somewhere. And couldn't it be my PCI slot as well that is dead?

could be but quite unlikely.

try a replacement graphics card first (does not matter what brand or model) anything will do, just trying narrow it down a little.
