90+ processes? for no apparent reason

my friends laptop is idling at 63-80 C...it has 90 plus processes for no reason, he doesnt do much but he recently started torrents n such

Seems like typical background laptop apps for me...

some of manufacturer apps (power mode/apple related/etc),
lots' of auto updater (this u can safely disable)...
two anti virus/malware...
skype and steam apps (u can turn it off if u are not gaming)

Normal if u consider him/her a average/normal user... (I don't see any out of ordinary process there)

u can try reduce the auto updater first.....
go to option of the each program (java, google, divX, malwarebytes, etc...) and set the auto update to manual....

u can also disable some not important service/process (apple apps, auto backup, indexing/searching, etc..)
but this need to know what apps/service he frequent use and what he not....
