This has been driving me crazy for the past 2 hours. All I want to do is download from steam while I sleep without my pc going to sleep as well. I have done almost every solution I have seen on google and nothing has helped.

I've restored them to default settings through the command prompt, replaced the files through regedit, pretty much anything I can think of.

Go to device manager. Rightclick computer, properties, device manager. The dropdown the network adapetrs and select whichever device you are using to connect.

Rightclick on it, properties, power management, then UNTICK allow this computer to trun of this device to save power.

Unfortunately, that did not help. I think I have discovered the problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

when I input "powercfg -getactivescheme" it comes back with "The power scheme, subgroup, or setting does not exist". I'm assuming this means it was somehow deleted?

Try a Windows repair. Will replace those missing files.
