Over the past month or so I've been expirencing some really bizarre problems that I haven't been able to problem-solve myself and have narrowed it down to the GPU. Basically whats happening is after a while of my computer being active, or playing a game, my monitors will go black, and the system fans will start spinning really hard. I'm unable to do any type of booting process besides a hard 10-sec on the power button system shutdown. If I reboot the computer immediately, it'll last a few minutes after start up before it does it again. Checking the temps, the GPU has been running at 84c active. Please help, its becoming a real pain in the ass.

Tech specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
16gb RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6990, 4gb

Heat is fine. I recommend doing a reinstall of drivers, that is certaintly an issue of driver crashing.

Since you have an intel cpu, you can safely run driversweeper in safe mode. I like driversweeper, its relatively safe and quick to use if you know what you're doing. Just download it, run it in SAFE MODE and delete all Nvidia Chipset, Nvidia Display, and AMD drivers. Reboot in normal mode, download the latest drivers for your card, and install. See if that fixes it. If you need any more help, do not hesitate to ask.

After a couple days of testing, the problem hasn't arisen. Thank you very much!
