My uncle has a 55 inch tv and the picture quality is very very bad.My 32 inch tv which is 1080p has very good picture quality.I think that is wrong to believe that the larger the tv is, we have better picture quality.I think it all depends on the manufacturer that produce the tv and the resolution that the tv has.All opinions are welcome.

Is he using an HD source? Is he using a HD cable(HDMI/Component HD)? I just had a friend recently pick up a new TV that was 720p/1080p, and he was complaining about how bad the picture was. It turned out it was that he was using a coaxial cable(screw in), and as soon as I hooked up a HDMI cable the picture went where it should of been all along. Into 720p/1080p. It was a night and day difference.

Sounds like he isn't using an HD source to me. He may be using an HDMI cable but if the signal is standard definition it wont make a lick of difference for picture quality. I have a 32" HDTV 720p/1080p, and my parents have a 47" 720p/1080p. Both look pretty close to the same when an HD source is connected. If we are on standard definition channels, my TV looks better because it's the same image on a smaller screen. This sounds like your uncles problem. Alot of people believe that the TV is what makes ALL the difference. That is not the case.

PS: As for the stretched image, that could be a setting on the TV causing that. There will be an option for resizing the picture on the remote, but it really sounds like he has a non HD source if the picture isn't fitting right and is blurry...
