Hi guys,
I bought 2 kind of firewire card for my Maximus V Extreme's PCI slot, but none of them are working. Well, they both are Chinese made, and don't have "actual" brand, but still pretty expensive.. (US$23 and US$16)

Also none of them appear on my Device Manager list.

I also using Windows 8 and Premiere Pro CS6.
Do you guys know any FireWire card (brand or series) that really works for this setup?

Hi, Have you tried installing the driver that came with the card?

There's no driver that came along with the firewire card (the box only have firewire cable and instruction that said it should be automatically recognized and working without installing anything), but I think firewire card is not really needed driver to be recognized with, isn't it?

I'm afraid the motherboard is "too new" for the card.
I might just need a brand new firewire card that work with this motherboard and windows 8

If you click Add a device in control panel /Hardware and sound / Devices and printers, does it find the card?

That's weird. It should work. Does the board have only one PCI slot?

I see. It's PCIe.
If the CPU supports the onboard graphics, can you try unplugging the GPU/s and inserting only the Firewire card in the PCIe x4 slot and test?
Connect the monitor to the onboard.
Just for testing.
Can you also test the card in a friend's PC just to make sure it does work?
